Thomas the Tank Engine Cookies

Trisha contacted me to create Thomas the Tank Engine Cookies.  I have a train cookie cutter, but it was a side view and while my children never had an interest in Thomas, I knew the face is what made him Thomas.  So I created a cutter suitable for a front-on cookie.  Character cookies are challenging but I was happy with the final result.

Trisha was too and when she picked up the cookies, she let me know the reason she ordered them.  As the owner of Bundles of Joy Themed Gift Baskets, she had been commissioned to create Thomas the Tank Engine baskets and my cookies were destined for the middle of each basket.  I was thrilled!  Trisha sent me the pictures of her finished baskets and based on how beautiful they look, I am thinking the recipients were equally thrilled.  Consider Trisha's services the next time you need something equally cute.

40th Birthday Cookie Set

Celebrating a birthday is made more special with cookies!  Happy 40th birthday, Jennifer!

A few years ago I saw some darling birthday cookies created by another cookie artist, the Flour Box Bakery.  Their cookies had cake silhouettes on them and I thought that one day I would like the opportunity to make something similar.  So when Karen asked me to create these cookies for her co-worker and left the design up to me, I ran with the cake silhouette idea.  I scoured the internet for inspiration, found appropriate clipart and used it to create these cookies.  When I was all done, I went back to the inspirational cookies from FBB and guess what, theirs have the exact same silhouettes!  Too funny!

Slipper Sleepover Cookies

Tricia from Guelph contacted me to help make her party planning a little easier.  Three parties in a couple of weeks was an overwhelming task!  I hoped I made things a little easier by provided these slipper cookies for her daughter's sleepover party!

1st Anniversary Cookies

Celebrating one year of wedded bliss plus the journey to get there is the story this set of cookies tells.  From meeting at the bar "Avenue" to their first date at a baseball game, the references to Australia where they lived, the Sydney Opera House which was the site of his proposal to her, the lighthouse which represents their wedding,  the pyramids because they went to Egypt for their honeymoon, the airplane to represent their love of travel, their cat Mylo and their first house and a hint to the future as well.  Wishing this lovely couple continued love and happiness!

Elegant Bridal Shower Cookies

With her third son getting married, Patti asked me to create bridal shower cookies for her soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Asha.  I was given a copy of the elegant invitation and asked to come up with something beautiful.

I have heard from many that the shower was lovely, and I am sure it set the tone for the actual wedding which will take place in the fall.  Congratulations Asha and Joel - wishing you a lifetime of happiness!

Ball Hockey and Fox Racing Logo Cookies

My friend's son spent the early part of the summer participating in ball hockey tournaments all over Ontario.  I was asked to make a set of cookies for his team each tournament (see original post here), and they certainly seemed to bring them luck!  After seeing pictures and noticing their jerseys, I made set with their jersey logo as well as ball hockey sticks and balls.  I understand the boys had a great time each weekend and I hope the cookies helped win some games!

Lighthouses, Sailboats and Sand Dollar Cookies

For my Farmers' Market table each week I come up with a theme.  Three or four cookies that link together somehow makes for a lovely table.  This week, I was inspired by the heat of summer.  Where would I like to be to get away from the humid Ontario air (and the heat made by my oven!)?  Something nautical came to mind and that's how I ended up with lighthouses, sailboats and sand dollars.  And they were a hit!  Happy summer!

Rescue Bot Cookies

Trisha contacted me to create Rescue Bot cookies for her son's birthday.  Rescue Bots are a spin-off of Transformers that are popular in the U.S., but that are not yet main-stream in Canada.  She had a very hard time getting her hand on any of the decorations for his party and resorted to making her own (let's face it; homemade = it was probably the best party ever!)  My custom designs were a perfect fit and Trisha was just thrilled with them!

Doctor Who Cookies

When I was a little girl, the television show Doctor Who was really, really creepy to me!  To this day, science fiction anything is not my cup of tea, and while I was aware that the show was being made and shown on television again, I was able to avoid it at all costs... until Heather emailed me from Vancouver.

Doctor Who is her family's thing.  Her love of the show was evident in her emails and she wanted me to create cookies in this theme, one set for her and her husband, a second set the wanted to send from Vancouver to Calgary as part of a birthday care package for her son.  She sent me pictures to inspire me, including a really creepy video of the Weeping Angels.  <Shivers>

I learned more about Doctor Who than I ever dreamed I would in this lifetime, but even I liked how the cookies turned out.  I never did figure out what the tardis is all about (and don't ever want to find out!)

Wimbledon Tennis Cookies

Robyn was spending a weekend with friends and wanted to bring a cookie gift.  Her friends are huge Wimbledon fans, so what better gift than tennis cookies?
